Loong Kee, Gohtong Jaya Genting - Marbled Goby (Soon Hock)

On our way up to Genting, we stopped for din dins at Loong Kee in Gohtong Jaya.
My first shot of a soon hock , the prince of steamed fishies :-) We had a half fish, which was enough for the four of us. So incredibly tender and smooth, magical!
There's a beautiful description in friedchillis.com
The texture of the practically boneless flesh is smooth as silk and sweet with a rich creaminess that honestly defies all description and finds no equal in river or sea. His life was gentle (hence the alias “ikan malas”), the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and cry to all the world 'This was a fish!!'".
Yum, what a treat ... washed down with a full bodied 18 year Macallan!
Greens are always good for you :-) As is to-fu! The latter was really tasty ...

Porkilicious! Good choice SK.. The pork dish on the left was interesting, similar to ham-yue fah lam poh (Salted fish fatty pork), but seemed ... duh ... healthier :-) And the Sweet and Sour Pork was pretty good too!
ps - Reasonably good value, even with the perfectly steamed mega-king-of-all-fishies ... the bill was RM$165. Time to get back on our way to ... the MTV Asia Music Awards @ Genting!
pps - Directions from NST.com.my
From town
From the Gombak Toll Plaza in Kuala Lumpur, take the Karak Highway to Kuantan. Take the left turn after the tunnel on to Jalan Genting. The Gohtong Jaya roundabout is only 45 minutes away from KL and three minutes from the Genting Skyway Cable Car Station.
From the north, exit the PLUS north-south highway at Tanjung Malim, turn right on to the trunk road to Kuala Lumpur and Batang Kali, which is 28km from the toll plaza. Take the left turn to Genting and left again 4km away. The Gohtong Jaya roundabout is 26km from this junction, or 58km from Tanjung Malim.
