Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D - Nikon lens review

One evening, me and my Nikon D80 and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D enjoyed a little shooting session in the garden ...

I love how fast and compact this lens is, f/1.4 rocks :-)

Hi Bam-Bam! I love her eyes :-)

Bam and Bibs :-)

Be prepared to pay about RM$1,000 for the 1.4D AF, or RM$1,800 for the newer 1.4G AF-S version. However, I still think the humble 1.8D version is damn good too ... Only RM$350!

Simply brilliant, I love it!

Funny events at the Trident Oberoi, Mumbai - India

Guess what ... I was stuck in a lift for the FIRST time in my life! Stepped into the lift at Trident, as I was about to check-out ... and voila! The doors closed, it went dark, and I called reception to let them know ... I was still calm :-) PHEW ... the power came back on 30 seconds later!!

May the events of November 2008 never repeat themselves again...

Goldie the Sniffer Labrador at the security checkpoint of Trident, Mumbai, will make sure of it :-)

Siberian Huskies in Singapore

Hi Zsa-zsa and Eva ;-)

Getting up close with my Tamron SP90 ...

Gorgeous!

"Stay!" ... Cool trick eh?

Wikipedia
The Siberian Husky (Russian: Сибирская лайка, Sibirskaya Laika) is a medium-size, dense-coat working dog breed that originated in eastern Siberia. The breed belongs to the Spitz genetic family. It is recognizable by its thickly-furred double coat, sickle tail, erect triangular ears and distinctive markings.
An active, energetic and resilient breed whose ancestors came from the extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic and were bred by the Chukchi of Northeastern Asia, it was imported into Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush and spread from there into the United States and Canada, initially as a sled dog. It rapidly acquired the status of a family pet and a show-dog.

The Siberian Husky has been described as a behavioral representative of the domestic dog's forebearer, the wolf, exhibiting a wide range of its ancestors' behavior. They are known to howl rather than bark.
Hyperactivity displaying as an overactive hunting drive, a characteristic of kenneled dogs, is often noticeable in dogs released from their captive environment for exercise - a behavior welcome in hunting dogs but not in the family pet. The frequency of kenneled Siberian Huskies, especially for racing purposes, is rather high, as attributed through the history of the breed in North America. A fifteen-minute daily obedience training class will serve well for Siberian Huskies.

Siberian Huskies are a very stubborn and dominant breed of dog. Siberians need consistent training and do well with a "Nothing In Life Is Free" training program. They are extremely intelligent and after learning a new skill will often decide when to show off this skill when asked to perform it. They rank 45th in Stanley Coren's The Intelligence of Dogs, being of average working/obedience intelligence.
They tend to run because they were at first bred to be a sled dog.

Delicious charsiew - Seng Kee Kitchen, Taman Desa

Add: 61A Jalan Desa Bakti, Taman Desa, KL
Tel: +603 7981 6136
Located: Taman Desa is located off Old Klang Road
Opening hours: 09:00 am - Lunchtime

Few "new" restaurants wow me these days, this was one of those rare occassions. Thanks to MY and SY for the recommendation ;-)

The roast meats here are fab ... good duck, great chicken, excellent char-siew, and I've been told the Siew Yoke (Roast pork) is great too.

Inclusive of delicious fragrant oil-rice, the meal came up to a little more then RM$11 per head for the 8 of us. Fab!

We shared a few "pots" of soup, the Herbal Chicken was espesh good.
Choy Keuk aka Preserved mustard greens wasn't "powerful" enough i.e. wasn't sour enough. But it was still reasonably good.
Roast chicken? Roast duck? Yummy!
The star ... Char siew!
The restaurant refers to this rather average caramelised custard as "Tun Tan" ... Well I thought it was rather average, but everyone seemed to enjoy theirs! I miss the one at Ipoh's Kong Heng and Thean Chun

ps. Look who joined us at lunch! This pincher's name is ... Coco :-)
