Ever heard of a pub-crawl? Hic hic ... well, these guys at nibbleish.com have just up-ed the ante, and introduced a restaurant crawl!
Enjoy full-sized meals (i.e. starters, main courses and desserts) at 3 different restaurants, along one road! The aim is to get a feel of what each and every restaurant has to offer, savour speciality dishes and best-sellers, as well as quaff delicate wines and bold, colourful cocktail favourites. Not forgettting the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and spend some quality eating-time with friends and family. Best of all, the menu prices are about 30% cheaper than regular prices!
Current promotions include Changkat Bintang - Delucca, Flams, Bermuda and Onion, and Palate Palate , as well as a personal favourite of mine... Jalan Bangkung - Leonardos Dining Room , Tea For Two, Tasting Room (this review!), all in one night! A typical event would mean Starters at about 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Mains between 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm ... and (slurp, everyone's favourite part!) Desserts (or SWEET as I would like to call it!) from 9:30 pm till late.
Pop over to http://www.nibbleish.com/ and give it a go! All you have to do is pick a location, choose a restaurant-combo and pay online.
Add: 65-1 Jalan Bangkung, Bukit Bandaraya, KL
Tel: +603 2092 4404
Located: Above Wine Cellar, along Jalan Bangkung (That's the road which houses Cava, Opus, U, Leonardos - Previously The Attic, and Tea for Two)
Opening hours: Mon-fri @ 11.30am till late, Sat-Sun-Public hols @ 5pm till late
Portobello mushroom toasted with crusted cheesy chicken served with creamy mushroom concentrate ... Excellent start, the balance of the mushroom and the concentrate was quite perfect.
Sautéed baby octopus with white wine sauce and water chestnut ... Have to admit I didn't try this, baby octopus scares me! (In general, I don't take sotong!)
Prawn bisque with braised tiger prawn ... Dissapointing. The flavours were incoherent, and the tiger prawn was miniscule!
Mains
Roasted cod fish served on the bed of squid ink pasta, sundried tomato, asparagus accompanied with cepes voloute’ sauce ... Simply delicious! I do wish there was a little more pasta though, overall this dish works very well!

Pan-fried chilled Angus tenderloin served on wild mushroom risotto, braised vegetable, Portobello confit with cabernet reduction ... Decent, but hardly spectacular. Wasn't a big fan of the risotto. Portions were a little small as well.
Roasted Lamb Rack on roasted potato, fresh garden vegetable glazed with rosemary infused lamb jus ... Looked a little bloody, but turned out to be perfectly cooked and well presented. Excellent.
Desserts
Home made strawberry cream cheese cake ... Average!
Crème Chantilly with amaretto strawberry coulis ... Average, and not very memorable.
Chocolate cosmos with vanilla sauce ... Best of the desserts, but I prefer the similarly prepared Lava Cake at Cava, or is it Opus?
We then adjourned to Leonardos along Jalan Bangkung for a post-mortem of the event :-)
A great evening, thanks to Nigel and his team!
