SMART car ... Klang

Klang folk have gone loopy ... I see a number of SMART cars running about, wow!

What does Wikipedia say?

MCC smart (formerly GmbH smart) is a brand of microcars and superminis of Daimler AG based in Böblingen, Germany. It is marketed as the "smart" in all lower case, as in the logo. The current smart brand logo denotes a C for "Compact" and an arrow for "forward thinking".

The name of the company, part of Daimler AG, was changed from "Smart GmbH" to "Smart GmbH Micro Compact Car GmbH " in September 2002. It was merged with Mercedes-Benz Cars in 2007.

The original idea behind the very short "smart car" was that the vehicle would be easy to park. It is short enough to allow it to be parked "nose-in" where a conventionally sized car would have to parallel park. Its length of 2.5 metres (98.4 in) equals the width of a regular parking slot, allowing two or three smarts to park in the same space as one normal car if parked side-on to the usual parking direction.

I had one of these, jet black with red interior and I loved it called it SPIKE though as with all cars it did have it's pros and cons.
The scariest cons... firstly on the motorway trying to pass huge lorrys at of course 70mph, you really feel the wind battering you and lastly here in the UK a patch of ice on the roads, when you hit it you hope and pray there is no oncoming traffic as the last time it happened to me I ended up on the opposite side !!!
