Taman Tun Dr Ismail Wet Market - Ramadan Month

I love visiting food-shopping places during the Ramadan month, you get so many shoppers buying food stuff to prepare for their loved ones' Breaking Fast / Buka Puasa dinners. Just gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling! Here's yesterday's visit to the Taman Tun Dr Ismail market.

Add: Jln Tun Mohd Fuad, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Pasar Moden, KL
Opening hours: 5am - 8pm

It's a really clean and well organised market, more akin to markets I had been to in Manchester, UK rather then here in Malaysia.

And on to the non-halal section! It's located in the lower floor / basement, adjacent to the covered parking lots. Even this section doesn't stink and is reasonably clean! Lee Wah Trading Co. is a huge pork butcher, selling every conceivable part of the pig. They obviously get very busy as there is a row of seats opposite them, in case there's a queue!

This is John, always ready to humour me, and he speaks great English too. He works alongside his bros' Michael and the "hunky" Cougar. Seems they usually sell-out before 12pm, so get there quick for the best cuts!

Check out the knifesmanship ... first he cleans the chopping block (Which in his case only lasts 3 months!), then the pork gets the knife treatment!
