Hamilton’s Steak House, Dusit Thani @ Bangkok

Add: Dusit Thani Hotel, along Rama IV / Silom, Bangkok
Tel: +602 235 9999
Location / Directions from the Airport: Travel towards Bangkok from the airport along the Rama IV Highway. At the major junction as you enter the city bear left onto the expressway to Rama IV Road. You will reach a cross roads which intersects with Rama IV Road. Turn right here. The hotel will be on your left hand side in around ten minutes.
I paid approx THB 300 for a peak-hour taxi ride, which took about 40 mins from the airport.

I didn't take photos of the meal tonight (It was a formal work dinner, didn't think it appropriate), but the food was really good ...

Starters
Crab-cake (Average)
Lobster Bisque (Pretty good, but could have had more lobster!)

To wash the pallet
Hamilton's Gooseberry Sorbet (Refreshing!)

Mains
Angus steak (200g) prepared medium-well (Delightful, looked dry, but was juicy, with a great gravy to go with it)

Dessert
New York Cheesecake (Good stuf!)
Cappucino

Overall ... a really decent meal, in a nice setting!

Ps. A well written write-up I picked up online ...
Hamilton’s Steak House at the Dusit Thani is a rarity in fickle city of Bangkok. It has endured while other restaurants have come and gone. Its formula is simple: a short menu, a quality product, and a timeless setting. The interior of Hamilton’s is reminiscent of a private club. There is lots of polished wood, the walls are covered with ageing photographs and the tables are covered with white linen and the place settings are substantial. About 70% of the customers at Hamilton’s are regulars who come time and again. The beef is Prime Angus from the United States, 250-day Grain Fed from Australia, Wagyu from Australia, and for those with deep pockets Matsuzaka from Japan. Three basic cuts are offered: sirloin, rib eye and tenderloin and at dinner there is a trolley serving top quality Australian Prime Rib Roast. The meat is impeccably cooked and expertly served by a cadre of polite and efficient servers.
In addition to the steak, signature items include one of the city’s best Caesar Salads at B320 and Sizzlin’ Crispy Crab Cakes at B425. The Grilled Atlantic Salmon at B630 is a popular choice as is the B489 Double Chicken Breast. The formidable wine list is appropriate for a restaurant serving grilled steak.Hamilton’s is popular at lunch and features a different B450++ set lunch on weekdays. During a recent visit we enjoyed a Caesar Salad, Roasted Leg of Lamb served with Needle Beans and Sautéed Potatoes and Hamilton’s Cheese Cake for dessert.
