Maserati GranTurismo - Up Close and Personal in Hong Kong!

Magic! I met a really nice Maserati Owner whilst we were in HK ... and here is our half hour with this beauty.

Speaking to the Owner, we found out that this was a showroom example (Seems in HK, a fully customised version would take a delivery of up to 1 and a half years!) ... with 20" (Yes, TWENTY INCHES!) Gringo Mercury rims. Sweeeeeeeeet!

Price? Need you ask ... Round about USD$200k. Drooooooool!

Wikipedia .... The Maserati GranTurismo is grand tourer produced by Italian automaker Maserati. It was officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007.
The GranTurismo is a two-door 2+2 coupé.
Many design elements come from the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which is also a grand tourer.
The engine is the same Ferrari-sourced 4.2-litre (4244 cc) unit which is currently used in the Maserati Coupé, Maserati Spyder, GranSport, Trofeo and Quattroporte, although uprated to a maximum output of 405 hp.
The GranTurismo uses a wet sump and the transmission is located in the front of the vehicle, as opposed to a dry sump and a rear-mounted transmission used on Duo Select models of the Coupé and Quattroporte.

Beautiful from every angle ... true Pininfarina.

Hmm, not quite large enough for my golf clubs, but I ain't complaining!

I got to sit in it! Vallance too :-)

Getting into the rear ... its still not a bad place to be (A genuine 2+2!) , but I sure wish I was in the driver's seat!

Even went for a ride :-) It grips like MAD! Not surprisingly as it is clad in 20" tyres ... the soundtrack from those quad-pipes is magnificent :-) and the ride is firm yet reasonably comfortable, certainly lives up to its GT moniker.

GranTurismo arrives back home ...
