As described by Kampachi, "This renowned Japanese Restaurant expands for the very first time outside an Equatorial hotel and is located in the most exciting retail mall to open in the Golden Triangle in nearly a decade. For the first time in Kuala Lumpur, handmade soba noodles are made fresh at the restaurant daily."
Its located on the very nice 6th floor of Pavilion mall ...
Kampachi also describes ... "THREE to four minutes, that is the time you have to consume the freshly made soba noodles when the waiters serve the dish to best savour the flavours.
That was the advice given by Kampachi at the Pavilion general manager Chiharu Yabe, who believes that it was about time Malaysians were formally introduced to the buckwheat noodles that the Japanese love so much."
We actually thought the soba noodles were sub-par, and a little on the chewy side ... wasn't particularly impressed. But the beef broth was really yummy! Unagi was good too.
Soft Shell Crab Maki - Good, but kept breaking up!
A couple of bento boxes ... yum.
We agreed that the highlight dish was the Japanese Curry, slurrrrrrrrp!
I preferred the Chawan Mushi at Rakuzen ... but overall still a good meal.
Thanx Xn for the treat :-)
Not cheap at approx RM$300 for the feast!
ps - More Kampachi notes about their latest outlet ...
As for the menu, the items listed are faster to prepare items to cater to shopping mall clientele who may not have as much time as customers at a hotel.
Quality wise, Lim assured that there would be no difference, as the chefs serving at both restaurants are both long time students of Kampachi’s master chef Lew Tin Sin.
“Kampachi at the Pavilion will have the same food supply as Equatorial, so customers can be assured of the same quality that they have come to expect at Kampachi,” Lim said.
