Izzy's Bistro, Northpoint (Mid Valley)

Izzy's is located adjacent to Mid-Valley Megamall, at Northpoint ... B-M-2 Mezzanine floor, Northpoint Mid Valley City, 1 Medan Syed Putra Utara, 59200 Kuala Lumpur.
Telephone: +603 2287 8220
The food: Mix of italian, local and international cuisine ... didn't find the food too special, nor the location. The Salad (Teriyaki Chicken) was decent enough, rather tasty and generous helping of chicken alongside ... The nasi lemak was indifferent ... The aglio olio pasta with sauteed prawns was decent ... Don't know about the Fish and Chips, I didn't try it!
The price : Not cheap at 120 + ringgit for the below, and 4 drinks.

Zipangu Japanese, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

Lunch was at a very special restaurant in a great KL hotel...

I chose the Wagyu cooked in Charcoal with Tempura meal, RM$200.
The wagyu beef was tender and exquisite, but would you believe it ... the Chawanmushi (Steamed egg) stole the show, the smoothest egg I have ever had!

Here's the RM$60 Cha-Soba with Beef Soup meal, excellent!

And to wash down what was a very memorable meal, BLACK SESAME ICECREAM ... exquisite!

Here are some views of the restaurant and this classical hotel in Kuala Lumpur ...
ps. If you dine regularly here, make sure you get a platinum card, I think it costs about RM$600 subscription per year, but get this ... you get FIFTY PERCENT off at all F&B outlets in Shangri-La if there are 2 diners. For example, the meal above would have come up to RM$300, but we paid RM$150. Bargain!

My Poang ... oops my Home, is now complete!

I have given my Poang a partner :-) If it was comfy before, it is incredibly fabulous now! Bliss ... Thanx, Map!
Good to know ...
1) This project took me all of 15 minutes to assemble ... it has been a while!
2) Seems Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA's founder, still sits in his 1974 Poang!

Pucuk Paku , Malay fare at TTDI

Pucuk Paku ... a malay eatery hidden away at Lorong Dato Suleiman 7, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Was heading to my usual Santai, but decided to try this. It was OK, but no Santai!
Good Mixed Tom yam, good meehoon hailam with lotsa gravy, reasonable Pucuk Paku Special Fried Rice with Fried chicken bits and Egg Mata Kerbau (but not a patch on Santai's Nasi Goreng USA), and rather good Beef Masak Merah. Overall, it was good, but I do have a soft-spot for Santai! I did like the home-made barley, which I had 2 of!

Ikea ... home of the best Curry Puff !

Love the $1 curry puffs ($5.50 if u are willing to buy half-a-dozen!) and the $2 hot-dogs with sweet relish ... simply yummy! Do people go to Ikea just to eat? Well, I would!

Siow Tiow Fish & Noodles ... Klang

Where? Located near to Courts Mammoth in the heart of Klang Town, near Jalan Nanas ... and a couple of doors down from the large Lian Bee bakery.

What? Don't even ask the waiter for 'meats', this place strictly does FISH (steamed variety, fish maw, etc), other seafoods, and NOODLES.

How was it? The steamed pomfret was indeed very good, especially with the fried minced garlic garnishing. The Oyster Omellete 'Hoh Chien' was good as well. However, the Hokkien-style noodles (both the kuayteow - if this was Ipoh, they would have been shot! ... as was the meehoon) were dissapointing. Rather dry, blend, and not properly cooked.

Overall? Very expensive at $88 bucks. And be prepared to wait ... it took 35 minutes before the first dish arrived!
