<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After a disastrous and frustrating visit to the nearby KFC, I plucked up the courage to go to ... McDonalds in Khalidiyah. Cute paper-bag ... "What's the secret?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-edCfirVcQhA/UjNvucSRsEI/AAAAAAABJ9w/uW9k1Jb50g8/s1600/DSCF8468.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-edCfirVcQhA/UjNvucSRsEI/AAAAAAABJ9w/uW9k1Jb50g8/s320/DSCF8468.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
My Fuji X100S likes the look of these french-fries shot at f/2.8, 1/60s and ISO2000.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsgtgUe3P08/UjNvuihipwI/AAAAAAABJ90/wmpkT2508bU/s1600/DSCF8470.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SsgtgUe3P08/UjNvuihipwI/AAAAAAABJ90/wmpkT2508bU/s400/DSCF8470.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's what I came for (In fact I actually wanted their wings, but they had sold-out) ... and so, I chose the Spicy Chicken Strips. I was having flashbacks to the Mini Fillet meal disaster from KFC last week!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Jhm_fIa7O0/UjNvvtV2z6I/AAAAAAABJ-I/_Oo_c7j_aEo/s1600/DSCF8471.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Jhm_fIa7O0/UjNvvtV2z6I/AAAAAAABJ-I/_Oo_c7j_aEo/s320/DSCF8471.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Thank goodness the McDs staff were quick, courteous and ever so friendly - Even whilst I was in the queue, someone came up to me and said hello, and asked what I wanted to eat, and quickly ushered me to an open counter. Now, that's service for you!<br />
<br />
As for the Chicken Strips ... Nothing much to shout about, I think it was breast-meat, tasted kinda dry, but hey ... McDs are forgiven, when their service is so darn good! KFC ... Tsk tsk.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't think I can ever convince myself to go to my local <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">KFC</span> again ... That's the one located at Zayed the 1st Street, here in Abu Dhabi's Khalidiyah area.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just last week - At 6:23pm in the evening, with hardly a person in the restaurant ... I ordered my <strong>Mini Fillet meal</strong>. I waited ... and I waited ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v2UlYfu_X_I/Ui1wvTyj2AI/AAAAAAABJ9M/F81MTPIq22I/s1600/KFC+complaint+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_99135="null" height="320" isa="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v2UlYfu_X_I/Ui1wvTyj2AI/AAAAAAABJ9M/F81MTPIq22I/s320/KFC+complaint+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After 2 other patrons who came after me received their meals prior to myself .. I complained to the Manager, who then tried to expedite my order, which was when I realised he <span style="color: red;">wasn't wearing any gloves</span> when he used a temperature probe to measure the temperature of the chicken at the counter. I would be surprised if this was part of KFC's HACCP management system!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jVGqrEJ84HM/Ui1wxpXNmxI/AAAAAAABJ9U/MKy5cu18UnE/s1600/KFC+complaint+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_99135="null" height="240" isa="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jVGqrEJ84HM/Ui1wxpXNmxI/AAAAAAABJ9U/MKy5cu18UnE/s320/KFC+complaint+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;">After waiting <strong>15 minutes</strong>, I decided to remind the staff that I have been waiting an extraordinarily length of time for what is considered "fast" food, and what surprised me was - There was only one or two other persons waiting around the counter ... Why did it take so long to prepare a couple of fries and my "mini fillets" and why could I not have been kept informed about the reasons for the delay?!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: red;">22 minutes later</span></strong> ... I got my Mini Fillet meal. Am I going to take the opportunity to write about my experience eating this take-away meal? I think not - This experience has left me genuinely dissapointed and surprised with KFC.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_68lLKqVfAI/Ui1wxjntrGI/AAAAAAABJ9Y/1-lwuhYchD0/s1600/KFC+complaint+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_lm_99135="null" height="400" isa="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_68lLKqVfAI/Ui1wxjntrGI/AAAAAAABJ9Y/1-lwuhYchD0/s400/KFC+complaint+3.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: blue;">Update 10th Sept</span></strong> - I provided the above feedback to Americana-Food and Yum group who operates KFC in the MENA region, and to their credit, they seemed to take my concerns seriously. <strong>Pity the staff in this store didn't!</strong></div>

I felt like an Indian meal tonight ... so I went for a drive :-) Free fresh poppadoms for starters...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IGY6ASV_3L4/UitTiyaiMZI/AAAAAAABJ74/GZeEjKHqXzs/s1600/DSCF8459.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IGY6ASV_3L4/UitTiyaiMZI/AAAAAAABJ74/GZeEjKHqXzs/s200/DSCF8459.jpg" width="133" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JhFLA5n1S8k/UitTiW_WwZI/AAAAAAABJ7w/WLi5HgXwT_0/s1600/DSCF8460.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JhFLA5n1S8k/UitTiW_WwZI/AAAAAAABJ7w/WLi5HgXwT_0/s200/DSCF8460.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>

My mushroom briyani, pretty good - And great value at 16 AED (RM$13), a really large portion that is easily enough for 2 persons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JhFLA5n1S8k/UitTiW_WwZI/AAAAAAABJ7w/WLi5HgXwT_0/s1600/DSCF8460.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ntc9bxmyN8I/UitTjMbmOkI/AAAAAAABJ8I/3qjahaKNa-g/s1600/DSCF8461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ntc9bxmyN8I/UitTjMbmOkI/AAAAAAABJ8I/3qjahaKNa-g/s320/DSCF8461.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And the piece de resistance ... Tandoori Corner's perfect <b><u>Tandoori Chicken</u></b>. Half portion at 16 AED.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The rest of my meal :-) Dipping sauce and Naan Bread which is served with the above. Yummy!<br />

Fennel, Rock Sugar and coated coriander seeds to freshen your mouth ;-) BURP!<br />

<br />
Located along 2nd Road or Airport Road, next to Fathima Supermarket, and not far from Mashraq Bank (A few blocks from Al Wahda Mall), this place is truly an Abu Dhabi institution ... We usually do take-aways as do many people (Call <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">+971 2 445 8686</span></b>), but try dining in - Its worth a visit!<br />

Sura means "Korean royal court cuisine", which had us salivating ... But we were going to be quite dissapointed! The food was mediocre at best ... No "ooomph", or "kick" as described by my dining companions, DL and OK, and what I found strange was - The food was not served piping hot!<br />

A really nice looking Thai restaurant that's open through Ramadan, serves some good beers and the desserts are nice too. Must try the main courses next time!! We tried the <b>Khao Neow Ma Muang</b> (Mango with Stick Rice, the Silk&Spice variant is served in a candle-lit balti dish!), as well as the evergreen<b> Tab Tim Krob</b> (Water chestnut dumpling with Jack Fruit in Coconut milk). Both were good!<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I like Reem Island cafe ... a lot! It provides a little taste of Malaysia when we are so far away from home ... and it had been some years since I last had one of my FAVOURITE dishes, Hainanese Chicken Chop.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><strong>Located:</strong> Reem Island, Abu Dhabi</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><strong>More specifically:</strong> Tamouh site office</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">E054 24' 04.4"</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><strong><span style="color: red;">Thursday</span></strong> is ... <strong>Hainanese Chicken Chop day</strong> at Reem Island Cafe!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSiioV7woKs/Ue4Cw5wkv3I/AAAAAAABJ4I/mDGXO-_rL-I/s1600/Chicken+Chop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img bba="true" border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSiioV7woKs/Ue4Cw5wkv3I/AAAAAAABJ4I/mDGXO-_rL-I/s400/Chicken+Chop.jpg" width="300" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: inherit;">The cafe serves specials each and every day - Monday is <strong>Kuay Teow T'ng</strong> day, and on other days there are Malaysian favourites such as ...<strong> Chicken Rice, Roast Duck, Curry Mee</strong> etc as well. On most days you would find chap fan, economy noodles for breakfast, kaya toast, as well as <strong>Wan Tan Mee</strong> and <strong>Mee Jawa</strong>, and <strong>Yong Tau Foo</strong> is served rather regularly as well. One can enjoy a full dinner of ala-carte dishes each evening as well!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: inherit;">But Thursday is my favourite .. <strong>Hainanese Chicken Chop Day</strong>!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: inherit;">There's a sucullent and generous portion of breaded and deep fried chicken, some mixed veges and shoe-string fries, and a couple of slices of tomatoes and cucumber ... all for the princely sum of <strong>15 AED or RM$13</strong>. <strong>Bliss in the desert!</strong></span><br />
<br />
On another occassion .. I tried it with <strong>rice</strong> instead of chips, for an extra 3 AED or RM$2, delicious as well!<br />
<br />

<br />
There's much <a href="http://3hungrytummies.blogspot.sg/2010/07/hainanese-chicken-chop.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">local history</span></a> to this dish - <br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<em><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">No you won't get this on Hainan Island, in fact you won't get it outside of Malaysia and Singapore as this is a British colonial legacy shared by both our countries. A dish created by the Hainanese who worked for English households using tomato ketchup, worcester sauce, potato chips and peas. It is still served at most remaining Hainanese owned coffee shops in Malaysia and Singapore these days.</span></span></em></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Yes ... I am a huge fan of this dish. </span><a href="http://juliansi.blogspot.sg/search?q=chicken+chop" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue; font-family: inherit;">Malaysia serves some excellent chicken chops</span></a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> including those at Tanjung Malim (Yik Mun v E&L springs to mind!), or KL's legendary Coliseum, SS2's famous Yippee Cup or perhaps the lesser known but equally excellent 99 Steak and Chops in TTDI.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">BUT ... its next to impossible to beat the<span style="color: blue;"> </span></span><a href="http://juliansi.blogspot.sg/2011/03/hainanese-chicken-chop-home-cooked-with.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue; font-family: inherit;">home-cooked variant</span></a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> :-) Prepared with much love!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
Excellent customer service, nice simple decor, and described as "Tastes like home!" ... It was an excellent experience!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cIk1kiCKW9w/UeX6pisnX0I/AAAAAAABJ2Y/O_6tIqzl5P8/s1600/DSCF7163.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cIk1kiCKW9w/UeX6pisnX0I/AAAAAAABJ2Y/O_6tIqzl5P8/s320/DSCF7163.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
First .. the meat arrived, on a sizzling platter. Smells wonderful!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N1-qTibMMFc/UeX6qnZzb_I/AAAAAAABJ2k/Pa0WOYeG33E/s1600/DSCF7164.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N1-qTibMMFc/UeX6qnZzb_I/AAAAAAABJ2k/Pa0WOYeG33E/s320/DSCF7164.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then ... the special Ethiophian bread (Which my makan partner in crime for the evening, Mr B described as having been flown in daily from Ethiophia!) arrived infused with juices from more meat ... This is called <strong><em>Injera</em></strong> (Can basically be described as a pancake-like bread with a really special aerated texture) and it comes with delicious spicy meat!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nuF05Fl7THs/UeX6q9787bI/AAAAAAABJ2o/_Hc5Jw8NLLk/s1600/DSCF7165.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nuF05Fl7THs/UeX6q9787bI/AAAAAAABJ2o/_Hc5Jw8NLLk/s320/DSCF7165.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>Special Tibs</strong> mixed with<strong> Tibs Fir Fir</strong> ... Eat with your hands, voila. Really good! <br />
Good value too ... <strong>70 AED</strong> for 2 persons including a bottle of water.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yes, we think that <a href="http://juliansi.blogspot.sg/2010/01/is-this-really-round-building.html" target="_blank">Aldar HQ</a> aka the <a href="http://juliansi.blogspot.sg/2009/10/aldar-hq-round-building-al-raha-gardens.html" target="_blank">"Round building" of Abu Dhabi </a>is fantastic, as is following the construction of ADNEC or the <a href="http://juliansi.blogspot.sg/search?q=leaning+tower" target="_blank">Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi</a> in our 4 years here ... But I think LY is right, these <strong><u>Cocoon Towers</u></strong> are Number One :-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VEKKbVp2fqQ/Ub7v4wN8goI/AAAAAAABJz4/LgF0JfF24f0/s1600/IMG_0069.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VEKKbVp2fqQ/Ub7v4wN8goI/AAAAAAABJz4/LgF0JfF24f0/s400/IMG_0069.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Aedas was appointed to design the new <strong>Abu Dhabi Investment Council Headquarters</strong> following an invited international competition. The 25-storey twin office towers in the United Arab Emirates will each accommodate between 1,000 and 1,100 employees. The design concept is both culturally and environmentally appropriate and complies with the aspirations of the recently published 2030 Abu Dhabi Development Plan.<br />
<br />
The south facing roofs of each tower incorporate <strong>photo-voltaic cells</strong>, generating approximately five percent of the total required energy from renewable energy sources.<br />
<br />
The <strong>cocoon-like buildings</strong> are based on a pre-rationalised geometric form, fine-tuned via parametric design tools to achieve optimal wall to floor area ratio. A <strong>solar-responsive dynamic shading screen</strong> further decreases solar gain. This <strong><span style="color: red;"><em>‘Mashrabiya’</em></span></strong> acts as a secondary skin that mediates daylight and reduces glare. The system is driven by renewable energy derived from the photo voltaic panels.<br />
<br />
<br />
It is not only amazing architecture that catches our eye in this wonderful city, the cars do as well :-) Here's a <strong>Peugeot RCZ</strong>! In a land of Veyrons, 911 GT2s, 458 Italias and Aventadors, its refreshing to see how a RM$100K car can still catch my eye!<br />

An exerpt from Amazon.com ... <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><i>Shin Ramyun Black. There are three soup packets that are enclosed to enjoy with the noodles. The soup extra contains high quality, fresh and chunky beef and vegetable flakes including shiitake mushroom and green onion. The ‘sul-long-tang’ soup base is made up of garlic and bone marrow. The third soup mix has delicious hot and spicy spices. </i></span><br />

A poor eating-experience and one we hope to forget about soon, one weekend lunchtime at the new extension of Abu Dhabi's Al Wahda Mall...</div>

<b>Fusion</b>? Seems Umi Fusion has an outlet at Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai ... I hope that it is purely-Japanese in that outlet, as the meaning of fusion here is genuinely confused! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I chose the <b>Paella</b> - I am not sure what mediterranean flavours and colour-profile was agreed upon by the Executive Chef and owners, but it certainly turned-out un-Paella like. Funny enough, it was probably the best of the 4 dishes our lunch-party chose (v the Chicken Rice, v the Hor-fun or Kuay Teow, and definitely v T's mackerel which was promptly returned to the kitchen!).</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am not sure what inspired us to order the <b>Chicken Rice</b>, but we did ... Chili was overly-spicy and without flavour, the chicken was dry ... and the rice? Plain ol' plain ol'!</div>

<br />
<b>Prices?</b> Japanese <b>Edamame</b> (18 AED), two <b>Japanese Kappa Maki Roll</b> (aka Sushi - 29 AED each), my <b>Mediterranean Seafood with Chicken Paella</b> (69 AED), <b>Japanese Saba Shioyaki</b> (Wait a moment - <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">Isn't that the Mackerel which T sent back!!!</span> 79 AED), and a <b>large bottle of local water</b> at 12 AED. Looks like we got the Chicken Rice and Oyster-sauce-heavy-Hor fun "free".<br />
<br />
On a positive side ... They accept <b>The Entertainer</b>. This meal for 4 (4 adults + 4 children) came up to <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;"><b><u>236 AED</u></b></span>, and note that this was WITH the Entertainer vouchers and T had sent back his mackerel!<br />
<br />
As Edgar Allan Poe described in The Raven, <i><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">"Nevermore..."</span></b></i></div>

We like Costa ... we like Al Wahda Mall ... we really like the GIGANTIC "soup-like" portion of Cappucino at Costa, for not many a dirham :-)</div>

<br />
Our favourite? The <b>Turkey and Ham twist</b> ... but look what was brought to us, a Turkey Ham and Cheese toastie :-( Seems it wasn't the first time we experienced this, I guess I gotta either "point" next time, or speak slower ... or perhaps ... It was the staff!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Any how ... the toastie was actually delicious, and we got a Twist later any way (We did pay for it!). A self-reminder for the next time we visit Costa at Al Wahda Mall!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our <b>Canon G10</b> is back in operation again, after the lens got stuck late last year whilst we I was on holiday in Malaysia :-(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bINgSCDU3DM/UTIv7_Arp1I/AAAAAAABJnE/B_i76uQrw3w/s1600/DSCF3968a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bINgSCDU3DM/UTIv7_Arp1I/AAAAAAABJnE/B_i76uQrw3w/s320/DSCF3968a.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Yes, the repair cost a bomb (Canon UAE, Abu Dhabi) ... <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">200 USD</span></b> for a new lens-assembly, to repair the <i>"Lens error, Restart camera"</i> fault. I think some call this the <i>Canon E18 fault</i>. Basically the lens barrel just wouldn't retract, despite doing a "battery-pull", restarting the camera, jiggling it, blah blah ... Sigh!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tEwWx3WgMQs/UTIv76U-p-I/AAAAAAABJnA/8DkDlJGCEmY/s1600/DSCF3968b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tEwWx3WgMQs/UTIv76U-p-I/AAAAAAABJnA/8DkDlJGCEmY/s320/DSCF3968b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
True, our Canon Powershot G10 is over 4 years old - But it was just too good a camera to dispose, especially when we have a brand new WP-DC28 underwater-housing (Over 200 USD!) and we one day ... want to go diving again! Looks like we have a working G10 again, woo hoo ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Abu Dhabi Golf Championship </b>- A HSBC event! Here are some preview shots from my 5 hours at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, on Day 2 of the championship ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The crowds following Tiger Woods, Martin Kaymer and new Nike-boy Rory Mcilroy's group was huge! Here is <b>Tiger </b>having a chuckle at the practise greens half an hour before his 12:05 tee-time...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-boHRRC_lSP4/UPo0wG9cCiI/AAAAAAABJmM/vBR8-uLzZks/s1600/DSCF2828.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-boHRRC_lSP4/UPo0wG9cCiI/AAAAAAABJmM/vBR8-uLzZks/s320/DSCF2828.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
One of my favourite players, the Big Easy ... <b>Ernie Els</b>, after his round. This was taken at 2:00pm on Friday.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FY_5JE4abU4/UPo0wR6ajDI/AAAAAAABJmQ/3qxYNjwjDJU/s1600/DSCF2910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FY_5JE4abU4/UPo0wR6ajDI/AAAAAAABJmQ/3qxYNjwjDJU/s320/DSCF2910.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
MA and myself even had the special privilege of watching him talk to the Callaway engineer about various weight permutations on his driver head, and trying out a "new" driver at the practise range. Perhaps it was because at this mid-way point of the tournament, Els was only tied for 36, after shooting a <b>73</b> :-( Ernie had shot 71 on Day 1.<br />
<br />
If you remember from July 2012, Els had won his second Open Championship with a <a href="http://www.golf.com/photos/ernie-els-callaway-golf-equipment/ernie-els-callaway-driver" target="_blank">Callaway RAZR Fit</a> driver.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
We had a wonderful time ... despite the sunburn I suffered waiting for Tiger/Mcilroy/Kaymer to tee off from their first hole of the day on the 10th tee!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UUmG4YusuIg/UPo0wgd4v0I/AAAAAAABJmU/7_NkHxoZzfI/s1600/DSCF2782.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UUmG4YusuIg/UPo0wgd4v0I/AAAAAAABJmU/7_NkHxoZzfI/s320/DSCF2782.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

More photos to follow ... Later this week ;-)</div>

Thanks to KCL for pointing out Shake Shack's website, which publishes their simple but elegant menu...</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Here in the UAE, it is operated along with their partner
<em>M.H. Alshaya Co</em> - Seems this unit at Dalma Mall is their 5th one, with the
first 4 being in Dubai I believe. On this occassion, I was the first to arrive, it opened at exactly <strong>NOON</strong>, and the staff were really friendly :-)</span></div>

After asking for the signature Shack Burger, I had a single patty burger (If you don't ask them specifically, they prepare each burger "medium" - I may try a "medium rare" next time) with no drink and no fries. Gulp ... <strong>25 AED</strong> or RM$20 for this. <em>Hmmm, wonder how big it is! Wonder how good it would be?</em><br />
<br />
I did wonder why they issued me with a JTech Wireless Paging system (Not dissimilar to the one they issue at our local <a href="http://www.eccad.org/" target="_blank">Evangelical Community Church</a>), then I realised they cooked each burger fresh (I did not see any burgers "queueing" at the service counter) and it took about 10-20 minutes ....<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>BUZZZZZZ!!!...</strong> Yay .....</div>
<br />
It was well worth the wait, and I enjoyed every single bite - Succulent patty, perfectly cooked, delicious cheese and veges, and a wonderful and delicate bun. It was small, but soooo good ;-)<br />
