The George and Dragon @ BSC, Bangsar

My first visit to this quaint pub in BSC (Bangsar Shopping Centre) ... just in time for Happy Hour after work!
Add: The George and Dragon, Lot G130, Ground Floor, Bangsar Shopping Centre,
285 Jalan Maarof, Bukit Bandar Raya.
Tel: +603 2287 9316

The menu provides a large variety of spirits and beers (as well as ciders and stout), but only has a small selection of 'english grub' ... but not a problem as it has all the favourites, such as Toad in the Hole, Pigs in Blanket etc etc :-) Yum, I was getting hungry!
The service was friendly, pleasant and prompt ... even though the place was packed :-)

Caesar Salad (Appetiser size - Plenty to share even, delicious cheese and bacon strips ... slurp! I loved it!) - RM$12

Our drinks ... Happy Hour Tiger (RM$16.50 per pint)
We eventually downed four of these ... Gin and Tonic (Gordon's) . RM$10 each at Happy Hour, and RM$17 outside of Happy Hour.

Toad in the Hole - Delicious sausages, great gravy and mash too. RM$15

Fish fingers - Fresh, nicely fried! RM$15
Bangers and Mash were yummy too ... RM$18
And this was delicious too, though I found the mustard sauce too hot (I stuck to Maggi ketchup instead!) ... Pigs in Blanket. RM$15
The damage? RM$167 for the three of us to have a FEAST! Delicious, will be back...

IMHO, quite disgusting names for dishes. Then again so are my local favourites such as coagulated pig/chicken blood, intestines, chicken feet skin etc. =>

In the United Kingdom "Pigs in Blankets" is the term for small sausages wrapped in bacon.
Usually served at christmas lunch or with roast dinners, Pigs in blankets is now considered an essential part of the Christmas meal.
Pigs in blankets can be accompanied with Devils on Horseback, an appetizer of dates wrapped in bacon.

Would you believe ... in the good ol' US of A, National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day is celebrated on April 24th!.

AND ... more facts from Wikipedia ... Toad in the hole is a traditional British dish comprising sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with vegetables and gravy.
The origin of the name 'Toad-in-the-Hole' is vague. Most suggestions are that the dish's resemblance to a toad sticking its little head out of a hole provide the dish with its somewhat unusual name!

I just visited the Restaurant yesterday and i love the atmosphere there with cool music played.
The food i ate last night was fish fingers. The taste was just so so... but the drink English Titley's that i ordered was tremendous. I love it so much.
Will come back again for other dishes. Nice post.
