Formula One - Nikon D80 / Race Day!

Here are dad's shots with the Nikon D80, he started off with the 12-24mm Tokina, but soon moved to the VR Zoom lens :-) We had an amazing view into the pits from where we were sat, directly opposite the pits!
Some previous sample of shots from this Tokina wide-angle beauty!

The teams prepared the nose cones, probably in anticipation of what MAY happen on the first corner at the end of the start-straight! Kovalainen (featured on the big screen below) would not know at this stage how good a race he would have ...

Go go go!!!

Breathtaking view, and incredible noise ... magic!

I've had enough of standing next to the track ... could hardly keep my Canon G9 steady, the vibrations from the 19,000 rpm engines were that fierce!

More action from the pits!

Though starting in pole, Brazilian Felipe Massa spun into the gravel mid-distance through the race. He said to British ITV, "I don't know what happened, I just lost the car completely. There was strange behaviour on the rear, so I don't know." He has now retired in both of 2008's races.
Loved our seats!

Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari were victorious :-) Brilliant!
