Ps. An interesting article I found ...
The popular Sze Ngan Chye salted roasted duck trader, who is part and parcel of Chinatown after hav-ing, traded here for over 50 years has temporarily relocated to opposite The Coffee Bean outlet outside Kim Lian Kee coffees hop and Georgetown Pharmacy."None of our regular customers know where we are although some hawkers help by directing those who enquire," said Sze."It's the first time I've moved away from my spot in 50 years. If it weren't for the coffee-shop owners who allowed us to trade here, we woltld have been forced to close for two months," he said. "The Government is spending so much money to upgrade toe place and am sure it would lure more visitors. However, the important thing is for us to get back our original trading spots," he said.
His daughter Amy Choong added that they were also unsure if the new stalls would be standard-ised.
"We need to display our roasted ducks in glass cabinets to make it easy for customers to make their choice. Will our needs be looked into if all the stalls are supposed to look the same? We can only get information from the newspapers but no one really knows what is happening," she said.
