Mexim Tim Sum in Puchong

Thought I'd give Bandar Puchong Jaya a try again, having been dissapointed previously at Yuen Garden Tim Sum! This was of course part of my Sunday morning ritual ... The meal started great with steaming hot and fresh Siew Mai.

The Foo Chuk with Prawns were rather good too, and the Chee Cheong Fun (Char Siew Cheong Fun) was really good ... nice sambal.

These were simply average ...

And these were poor! Bland tasteless porridge ... Prawn Cheong Fun was so poor, especially compared to the yummy Char Siew variety I had eaten before.

Overall, a rather mediocre experience, meal came up to RM$35.

Really good Telur Bungkus ($5), and palletable Ayam Masak Merah ($5).

We also had Roti Pisang ($2.80) ... which wasn't hot enough :-( and reasonably good Tandoori Chicken ($6) (thigh please!).

All these for the princely sum of ... RM$26.

Ti-Ratana Welfare Society - Time for some KFC!

We brought a little cheer to Ti-Ratana this evening :-)

Ti-Ratana ... "Ti-Ratana is a community centre created for the betterment of lives. A centre of hope, sharing and growth that caters to the needs of children, young people and senior citizens, regardless of race or creed. In these times of haste, stress and pressure, we have created Ti-Ratana to be a sanctuary, a centre of hope for the hopeless and the helpless, a place of rest for the infirm or the healthy, a place to learn and grow, love, share or just be. Lift a hand. Light a heart. That's the core concept of Ti-Ratana."

Seri Selangor Golf Club - Snack time

Yummy fried sausage and onion ... and decent sandwiches too.
After a swelteringly hot round of golf at Seri Selangor, Damansara ...

BAP1 spotted .. heh heh!

Spotted somewhere in Kuala Lumpur ... Hmmm, what if the THIRD LETTER was swopped with a 'B'!?

When we tee'd off on a Saturday morning @ 9am, it was cool ... the skies were overcast, and we thought it may even rain!

By the time we got around to the last holes on the Back 9 (we played Back 9 first, before Front 9) it was close to noon and it was HOT!

Hmm... tee shot way up in the air!

"The fishballs are good!"

So glad we managed to finish the round despite letting through all the flights behind us (One group told us, "We are single handicappers. We don't want to pressure you. Let us through!") ... ended up shooting a 55 + 53 round (putted terribly), not an easy course! Lots and LOTs of water!

What a nice neighbour!

Look what my neighbour gave me for Chinese New Year (CNY) ... Gong Hey Fatt Choy!

Souled Out, Sri Hartamas

Danny J arranged dinner at SOULed OUT in Sri Hartamas ... Its a great theme restaurant, very popular amongst local and expats, and especially football fans. I think the Brasil futsal contingent was there last nite!

I heard the Satay was decent ... as was the poppadoms!

However, the meal went downhill with the Steak which our friend returned thrice! Over-cooked, then not chunky enough :-( AND ... my Sang Har Mee was DIABOLICAL! Not tasty, and the noodles were like rubber bands ... eeeeeep!

Stick to the Pizzas ... these they do well here!

No idea what this dish was ... ask Fabian!

Old Town Kopi Tiam - All over town!

I reckon Old Town is the largest chain of kopitiams across Malaysia ... 80 outlets and rising, from Kota Kinabalu to Klang to Kuala Lumpur! and I have to say whilst the food is NOT spectacular, it certainly is bearable and highly convenient! I usually have the nasi lemak (Sambal is rather hot, be careful!) or the Shredded Chicken Hor Fun ala Ipoh.

Some history of the brand ... "The introduction of OLDTOWN White Coffee 3in1 Classic together with the original recipe from 1958 spearheaded a breakthrough in the coffee industry. The Company single-handedly captured the original authentic taste of an otherwise localized white coffee, turning it into a mobile commodity - a fast moving consumer good (FMCG), capturing the South East Asia market."
