Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea, Jordan

We recently went on holiday in Jordan, our itinerary was a driving-packed one ...

1) Dead Sea

2) Wadi Rum

3) Petra and Little Petra

4) Madaba

On our first night, we stayed at the rather luxurious Holiday Inn Resort, Dead Sea :-) Customer service left a lot to be desired, with slow food service, but the facilities at the hotel and the beach made up for it!

Yes ... yours truly floating in the Dead Sea! And our hotel room afforded us a view of Jericho / Jerusalem in Israel across the Dead Sea!

Whilst driving to Wadi Rum, we made a detour to nearby "Baptism Site" which is the supposed site of Jesus' baptism. We didn't stop though, just drove through!

Tip! Bring your GPS to Jordan, the roads are very well mapped out ...

One of the lowest points on earth, whilst we were at the Dead Sea beach at the Holiday Inn, we were over 390 metres BELOW sea-level. Check out my GPS below!

There is a panoramic drive along some very windy roads, that take you from 390 metres below sea level to over 1,500 metres above sea level ... Again, we drove by the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex, didn't stop :-)

ps - Despite stories and press coverage on Amman, Jordan and unrest, there was absolutely no problem with visiting Jordan. This isn't Bahrain, nor is it Egypt, Yemen, Syria or Libya!
