Popeyes Fried Chicken, Abu Dhabi - Dubai Highway stop

I think this is called Cajun Mashed Potatoes ... Popeyes can certainly give KFC a run for their money, 5 AED for some really excellent mash, with tasty gravy. Slurpss...

Where is Sharjah? Here in the UAE!

Sharjah is the third largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates, and is the only one to have land on both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Sharjah is ruled by Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhd Al Qasimi of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Sheikh of Sharjah.

Sharjah is popular for its rich and cultural place in the Arab region as it has won the prestigious UNESCO award of being the Cultural capital of the Arab world for 1998 The seventeen museums in Sharjah played a critical role for obtaining this award.
Rent is cheap!

Heh ... heh ... Ageless!?

Time to head back to Abu Dhabi ... via Dubai of course.

Reflets de France - Confiture Extra de Fraises du Perigord

Reflets de France - Confiture Extra de Fraises du Perigord ... huh!? That's Strawberry Jam for you, lar! 17 AED or about RM$15 from the local Lulu or Carrefour here in Abu Dhabi. Not too sweet, lots of fruit, I like it!
My idea of cooking is its gotta be done in 30 mins ... otherwise I won't do it :-) OK, sometimes I make an exception, and take up to 1 hour!

Ayam masak merah ala Maggi ;-)

Steamed pork with Pickled Lettuce ... easy in the rice cooker ;-) Love it!

This one wasn't so good ... some cina pork chop in a tin thing ... eeeek!

Ah ... simple steamed egg-minced pork-button mushrooms ;-) Again in my rice cooker!

Manfrotto - Ball Head 496RC2 and 190DB Tripod

My first Manfrotto ... thanks BT :-)

My 496RC2 ;-) Beautifully built!
Medium size, light, with quick release - perfect for amaterus and professionals.
Weight: 0.42kg
Load Capacity: 6kg
Panoramic rotation: 360º
Colour: Black
Material: Aluminium

Works perfectly with my 190DB Tripodo ;-)

The 190DB ... Lightweight, compact and sturdy, tripod ideal for 35mm SLR cameras, especially when on the move outdoors. Key features include:
four leg angle settings
centre column with an innovative three faced design
low angle adapter built in the centre column for ground level shots
legs collars with double wing locking knob
Verdict? Incredible built quality, a wee bit heavy, but thats what I should expect for stability. Tested with a Nikon D80 with a Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 lens. Points in every conceivable direction including vertically downwards!

The best value Nikkor lens ... ever!

One of my favourite Nikkor prime lenses ... ever!
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

At under RM$400, how can one argue about this fantastic little lens.
I like what KenRockwell.com wrote ...
This lens makes no compromises in image quality. It is inexpensive because it is a very simple lens to make. It uses a classic, proven optical design. A $110 zoom lens has to cut many corners in image quality that this 50mm doesn't.
None of the pros I know use exotic normal zooms They all own these lenses which they throw in a pocket for the few times they need a lens for low light or to cover the range between their pro wide zoom and pro tele zoom.
