Bufori Motor Car Company, Kepong KL

Was pleasantly surprised to receive an invite to visit the House of Bufori in Kepong this week, so dad and myself went along for a look-see. This adventure all started when I spotted a pearlescent Bufori Mk III La Joya in Mont Kiara many months ago!

Add: 34B, Jalan 5/32A, 6 1/2 mile Kepong, KL
Tel: +603 6259 1000

It wasn't difficult to find Bufori. Really nice show-room with a Mk II and a Mk III.

Check this out ... an electric powered, kids-size Bufori! Known as the ... Bufori Bambino!

Julie-Ann was a most gracious host, and took my dad and myself through the history of Bufori, models, and factory tour. We were also honoured to briefly meet Gerry Khouri who is the founder of this most-niche of marques!

I couldn't believe it, I was asked if I wanted to test-drive the Mk III La Joya. I said YES immediately! With a displacement of 2.7 litres, which meant a Quad-cam V6 engine which is rear mid-mounted, driving the rear wheels, and a Sequential Shift Transmission, and all the modern comforts you would expect, this was a joy to drive ... Easy to drive, and certainly gets you attention!

It was a brilliant day out which dad and myself enjoyed tremendously ... All the best, Bufori!

Funny signs in Sri Muda, Shah Alam

Would you borrow money from ...

What's the name of this road?!

Best Kon Loh Mee / Wan Tan Mee is in Klang

Breakfast time at Indiana Cafe, located along Persiaran Raja Muda Musa on the route between Klang - Port Klang.

The humble stall (In operation for 6 years) , which takes quite a while to painstakingly create each plate. Dad's friend, Uncle G, recommended the place, and gave us point by point directions to get there. The main landmark? Shell along Persiaran Raja Muda Musa towards Port Klang.

Springy, tasty, and beautiful balance of flavours. Even the char-siew was very good. Excellent wan-tan mee (kon loh mee). As my dad, who's a real wan-tan mee connoisseur describes the meal:-
1) Noodles are crinkly so it traps more sauce
2) The ability to make a dish from few component ingredients is a real challenge, for example basic cendol, cold soba, and chicken rice / kon loh mee too.

The Wantan soup, such a generous portion, only RM$3.50. Dirt cheap!

ps - The noodles here rank amongst the best we have ever tasted ... I think we have a champion!

Prawn Mee, L&L Kopitiam Shah Alam

My folk's favourite Prawn Mee is located at L&L Kopitiam in Sri Muda of Shah Alam, a block down from the local KFC (68 Jalan 25/62 Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam).

RM$3.50 - Best in Shah Alam, I am sure of it! Light version of Penang Prawn Mee.
Hmm, I think it needs a shoot-out v the prawn mee in Loke Yew (KL)

Great customer service! Aunty seems to always remember that my dad wants some napkins AND toothpicks ... :-)
