IWC launch @ Mandarin Oriental, KL

What a glamorous evening ... thanks to the Valiram Group for a most wonderful invite :-)


Paula Malai was the emcee for the night ...


This was the grand ballroom, all decked out for the big evening ... I estimated at least 600 guests.


Food was free-flowing all evening, until the 'special guest star' arrived on stage! The timsum and pasta were OK, but the lamb briyani was yummy as was the Peking Duck. The desserts especially the chocolatey ones were very nice too. The champagne, wines, and other liquors flowed all night!

Paddington House of Pancake, Plaza Damas

Located at Sri Hartamas' Plaza Damas ... House of Pancake is indeed a nice dessert (and savoury too if that takes your fancy!) place. The new staff who served us, wearing a 'I am new' badge, was EXEMPLARY! BRAVO for his attentive and friendly service.
We chose the delicious TREASURE BOX ($20.50), and I washed it down with some Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows ($7). Yum!

Place is also re-nowned for its Sang Har Mee (Big Prawn noodles) but last time we had that, it cost 60 bucks ... so no more! The Beef Noodles here are acceptable for me, but most people rave about it! Anyway, Vincent treated me to the 40 buck meal of beef noodles (enough to feed 3!) and Carlsberg.

Its been a loooooong while since I caught up with Vincent, glad to meet my Oldham bro again!

McDonalds ... Supper-time

Hmmm, SWEET and SOUR DIP from McDonalds is rather pallatable! Had it with ze Fillet o' Fish and Chicken McNuggets the other nite, some simple supper!

Strictly average italian fare ... Located at SS2, next to Public Bank ... Tel: +603 7873 9695

Inslta Pollo ($10.80 - Chicken salad), Cream di bas ($7.80 - Mushroom soup), Fried rice with tuna flakes (OOPS! Risotto I mean!) ($13.80).

The peanut butter cup-cake ($5) was the best!


The mini cup-cake ($2.40) and the vanilla ($5) one were rather yummy too...

Bubble Tea @ Yippee Cup, SS2 (PJ)

A visit to Yippee Cup in SS2, PJ, is always refreshing ... located next to where Caesars used to be, its worth being patient in waiting for a parking lot! Hot floral-tea, Lychee with Nata D'Coco, and a Bubble Tea (Original) to take-away ... Nice!
Note - They charge $1.20 extra for taking away, seems the cup and cover/shrink wrap are imported from Taiwan 'home of bubble tea'!

Porridge in Soo Kee, Damansara

Soo Kee is an old established eatery, located down the road from HSBC in Damansara Utama ... didn't find the dishes very good. But it was reasonable at under $30 for the three of us.

Chatterbox, Bangsar Village

Chatterbox is located at Bangsar Village ... Check out my previous review of this HK style joint
The Yung Chow fried rice and fried tong-fun were good, as was the simply fried luncheon meat and Lotus pork patties!


These on the other hand weren't very good ... Tong Poh Pork, terrible Pork burger with very hard bread, Red sauce Cheese baked rice.


And these are the drinks, Ribena Cincau... and Ribena Lime (I think!)

Ssangyong Stavic ... Am I seeing double?
