Seems that Debenhams in KL would soon be no more, and MetroJaya would be taking over ... Alas, it is goodbye to another British institution.

Dinner tonight was at Taipan in USJ ... Curry mee RM$3.50 , 'Loh' Duck RM$4.20 , Ah Wah (YES! The world reknowned Hokkien Mee Genius has opened shop closer to us!) Hokkien Mee RM$5 , Satay (x 5 chicken x 5 beef) RM$5 , and Herbal tea...























As we walked out of Sin Kong ... I had to take a closer look, DUH ... HOW BIZARRE!

I had waited some months before I had the opportunity today to try the Tim Sum at IMBI PALACE ... Originally recommended by our mate, Thomas, and it certainly did NOT dissapoint. Very fresh, very tasty, good ambience, good service, expensive (nearly RM$40 per head) ... overall, YUM!

We ordered LOTS (11 dishes - Siew Yoke/Roast Pork, Char Siew Pau, Hah Kao, Siu Mai, Egg Tarts, Chee Cheong Fun in XO Sauce, Carrot Cake, Porridge with Century Egg, Soup Dumplings, Thai Fish Cakes and Woo-Kok/Yam pastry) , but the highlight had to be the X-O Chee Cheong Fun and the Kam Pai Siu Yuk (Roast Pork) ... perfect!

A very very very 'international' restaurant!

Check out this 'Food Court' (On the way to University Malaya) ... I have never had the chance to try it, but boy ... if the sign is right, it serves just about everything except Kazakhstanian Stew!

Killiney Kopitiam in SS21 / Damansara Utama

We had breakfast this morning at Killiney Kopitiam (Damansara Utama) ... originally we were just going to 'have a cup of coffee' but it became a mini-breakfast!

I always enjoy the mee-siam here (ala Singapore), but today I found out that the kaya-toast with half boiled-egg set was pretty good too (I do think that Uncle Lim's is still the benchmark)!

Roti Sardine @ Devi's Corner, TTDI

After visiting Rush (Eastin Hotel), we wanted to have a 'little' snack at 1.30am ... so we ended up at TTDI, in Devi's Corner (photo of the shop was actually taken a day after in the day-time).

Fried Indomie Goreng (variation of Maggi Mi Goreng!), Mango Lassi (real let down, artificial tasting and too sour), Teh Ais kurang-manis (less-sweet)

I had ... Roti sardin (photo below), with Milo Ais

Overall, good! Best thing was the SERVICE, which was really excellent (would you believe the waiter actually remembered EXACTLY what curry I wanted, i.e. chicken curry gravy with some sambal, and graciously gave me MORE SAMBAL on a separate plate when I asked for it!).

Lucky Tai-Chow at Section 17, PJ

Dinner with Yeong Shang ... Thursday, 7th September 2006

Possibly my favourite tai-chow (big fry = stir fry ... aka 'simple chinese restaurant') ... but I can never remember WHERE it is and WHAT THE NAME IS! All I do know is the food is very good :-) Had dinner here with Shang, and were joined by Whye Mun and Wee Tee.

On the menu tonight ... Yao mak (Stir fried greens) , Xiong Tong Yuen Choy (Spinach in soupy-broth) , kung poh tin kai (Frog legs in Kung-poh sauce) , Salted-egg Prawns , Marmite Pork Ribs and House-specialty Tofu with minced pork . To wash it all down, Tiger beer, mmmmmmmmh...
