Pork Noodles, Weng Hing at Imbi, KL

Weng Hing Coffee Shop - 183, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur

It is clear that this establishment, Weng Hing, has been around for yonks. It has that old feel to it, and exudes charm as well as arrogance! Mind you, the service was great, and with a smile (The Pork Ball seller's crew)!

It is located on the corner of Jalan Barat and Jalan Imbi in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Its 'great' sitting outside Weng Hing, where one can watch the cars zoom round the corners, taxis honking, and pedestrians risking their lives walking across the road! There is parking across the road in a metered parking area, but you would probably stand a better chance of winning the lottery then finding a parking lot there. I must have won the lottery :-)

This place is reputedly famous for its Char Kuey Teow and Pork Ball Noodles. Other Bloggers have noted that the CKT is nothing to shout about (Unlike Robert's at Section 17 which I just reviewed!), so I had the WORLD FAMOUS Pork Ball Noodles. It certainly did not dissapoint, INCREDIBLE! I loved the soup, which was peppery and very tasty, and complemented the excellent pork balls. I had this with the kuay teow which was of the slightly-sticky variety, and not too smooth, but it seemed to 'work'. Yummy! The minced pork sauce over the noodles was excellent. However, the portions are rather small, and at RM$5 a bowl, pricey, but hey, you get what you pay for!
