Wong Poh Seafood Restaurant, Bukit Mayang Mas in PJ

Dinner with my Dive Buddies
Tuesday, 31st October 2006

Welcome home, Ah Siang!

Location : Near to kampong chempaka but not quite there.
Using the LDP from Sunway to kelana jaya direction, look out for the Catholic Church on the left hand side. Immediately after the church, turn left and you
will come to a small roundabout. Keep to your left and turn 9 o'clk (3 o'clk direction will lead u to kampong chempaka).
Go up straight and the road will lead u to turn to the right curve (u should see the signboard 'baywatch' cafe/pub on your right), follow the road and go straight up all the way down . and u should be able to
watch out for Wong Poh Restaurant on the right hand side, which is located at an older shoplots (not the new one).

Sampled dishes: Butter Crab with fried man-tou, Salted-egg Crab, Kam-hiong Lah Lah, Marmite (Supposedly Guiness, but sure tasted like Marmite!) Pork Ribs, To-fu, and Vege.

The damage: RM$135 (for 5 of us)

Sleepy boys...

Early morning, 19th October 2006
M and m were both so sleepy when I got back from Starhill ...
The final photo is of the morning after

Fisherman's Cove @ Starhill, KL

Cuisine: Fusion-styled seafood dishes.
Address: LG10, Feast Village Starhill Gallery 181 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur
Phone: 03-2782 3848

The starter was superb, and it included a beautiful prawn sashimi with wasabi, as grilled Barramundi and some good skewered prawns. Mmmmmh... and the large mussels! At nearly RM$200 for this platter it had better be good!
For mains, I had grilled pacific turbot fillet, nice!
And for sweet, oops dessert, I had tiramisu with the most beautiful french chocolate Valholla.
Choice of wine? Andrew picked a beautiful bottle of Meursault (A French white, quite exquisite!), and we had a 2nd one too!

Boys in the evening ...

Wednesday, 18th October 2006 - Here's the boys greeting me when I popped home from work before 7pm this evening ... Immediately dashed off to Starhill (photos to follow!) after bathing Mikey though. He loves his put-put!

Kogetsu Japanese, Saujana Subang

Monday, 16th October 2006

Kogetsu is an excellent Japanese in the beautiful resort of Saujana Golf and Country Club in Subang ... Good set meals (A bit pricey!), but the ala-carte is reasonably priced for such an authentic, consistent and yummy place. BTW, the Asahi Super Dry was goooooood. My third trip here ... thanks to work!

On the way back to KK from golf at Borneo in Bongawan, Uncle Peter treated us to dinner at this quaint TAIWANESE RESTAURANT.
Where is it? 15km outside of KK, in Beringgis.
Fish was good, but best of all was the 'fatty pork' first dish ... piece de resistance!

Ipoh - Minced Pork Noodles

17th September 2006
Belated blog from my trip to Ipoh

This store has the distinction of being nick-named 'Feh Chai Mee' aka Fat Boy Mee, which basically describes the Chef. His minced pork noodles and incredible fish-balls are possibly the best ANYWHERE!

Ipoh - Funny Mountain Soya Bean

17th September 2006
Another delayed post ... but this is a true institution in Ipoh. The best soya bean, bar none!

Ipoh - Old Town White Coffee

17th September 2006
Sorry for the late post ... but this institution in Ipoh just had to be blogged!
Have to say it was a let down though, not as good as 2-3 years back ... Even Uncle Lim beats this!
I am still on the look-out for the BEST kaya-toast in town ... Any tips?

ps . The 1st photo is one of the competitor across the road ... Perhaps they are better!

And excellent Oyster Omellette (Hoh Chien), as well as fantastic Ice Kachang and Penang Rojak too! Yummy! Kim was a wonderful tour, oops food-guide, thanx!
